Join us for the 2023 Myopia Fall Hunter Pace

Sunday, October 29 | Groton House Farm

Dear Prospective Competitor;

The Myopia Hunter Paces in Hamilton, offer riders a lovely ride through typical Myopia hunt country. Offered in the spring and fall, the courses are comprised of beautiful trails and fields, with plenty of inviting natural jumps (all with gaps) of every height (maximum of 3 feet). The courses are approximately 7 miles and include a 3-minute stop in the middle of the course. Participants ride out in teams of up to 5 riders. Riders under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult rider.

Our Hunter Paces exist because of our landowners and wonderful volunteers. Please thank them when you meet or ride by them.

Kick On and Enjoy!

MYOPIA FALL HUNTER PACE

Sunday, October 29, 2022, 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. start times
Groton House Farm
746 Highland Street
Hamilton, Massachusetts
$85 per competitor ($10 late fee after October 22nd)

ENTRIES CLOSE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH AT 5PM

Course:
The course of approximately 7 miles is the same for all divisions. There is a mandatory three minute rest stop. Refreshments will be provided for riders.

NOTE: We will not be offering separate 20” or 3’ jumping fields this year.

  • Jumping Division: All riders will encounter about 25 or so inviting fences, logs and stone walls not to exceed 3'6", many in hilly terrain. A way around all obstacles is available. Riders in all divisions may go around (gap) jumps at their own discretion. Depending on the rainfall prior to the event there may be soft footing. There will be one minor moving water crossing.

  • Adult Non-Jumping Division

  • Junior Non-Jumping Division: Two or more riders under 18. One adult or professional may be part of a Junior team.

Start Times:
Teams will be asked to select their 1st and 2nd preferences for a start time to ensure a steady flow of teams on course.  We will confirm your entry and email start the time to your team leader the week prior to the event.

Jumping riders will go out before non-jumpers to avoid having the faster-paced jumpers running up on the non-jumpers. There are specific time slots for each - note that there is also a 1/2 hour break before the second set of jumping riders to give the non-jumpers time to get far enough ahead.

Attire:
Safety helmet required. Creative team attire encouraged for all divisions.

Awards:
Winners will be those teams closest to the Official Pace Time. Six Ribbons will be available for the top six places of each division. During the month of September, ribbons awarded will be mailed to the designated team leader for distribution.  Division results will be posted on myopiahunt.org by the Wednesday following the Hunter Pace.
